The Bay Area Speech Studio, is a group of licensed and credentialed pediatric speech-language pathologists dedicated to providing personalized, data-driven, and quality speech and language therapy to children of all ages in the San Francisco Bay Area. Current therapy services for California clients are provided via teletherapy (only) at this time.

About Me

Amanda Root is the owner of the Bay Area Speech Studio and has been a practicing speech and language pathologist for over 13 years. She earned her undergraduate degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She then earned her Masters of Arts degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. while graduating with honors.

I cannot say enough good things about the progress my son's speech made while Amanda was working with him. As a kindergartener with boundless energy, he eagerly looked forward to his appointments. Amanda tailored the lessons to him and her positive attitude and fun games made the time spent with her the highlight of my son's week. We loved her flexibility in working with our schedules and allowing us late-in-the-day appointments. By coming to our house, our son was comfortable and ready to learn. Amanda kept us in the loop on how he was doing and assigned homework every week. He quickly progressed and was even able to rock a speaking role in front of everyone at a recent school program. I highly recommend Amanda and Bay Area Speech Studio -- our son is going to miss her so much!
